Mentoring program. The program "Building of independent life skills for orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are at the institutions of various forms of ownership" Reasoning of the program: Orphans and children deprived of parental care, who are brought up outside the family environment, in individual life must get involved into social relations, which require them to develop social and personal skills - namely, responsibility, ability to make choices and to cooperate with others . Therefore, on the basis of institutions for orphans and children deprived of parental care should be created evolutive environment, which will help to expand and deepen their socialization into three main areas: activity, communication, self-knowledge. One of the trends of evolutive environment is mentoring. Thus, this program will help children better understand themselves and people around them, gain confidence and ability to build healthy interpersonal relationships, to get acquainted with the principles of independent and self-supporting life. It is a tool that will gather together and unite around each child a group of caring people willing to help, encourage and support. Goal of the program: preparation of orphans and children deprived of parental care who stay at public institutions for an independent life (adjusted for their age and functional limitations). Assignments of the program:
- The formation of different abilities and independent life skills of orphans and children deprived of parental care;
- Search and training of mentors for each child.
The "Orientation" The purpose of creating the program of orientation activities within the framework of mentoring program is to help orphans and children deprived of parental care to identify their potential, to increase knowledge about different occupations, to determine the profession and to enter the school.
The "Tutoring" The purpose of tutoring in the framework of mentoring program is to brin up a happy, smart, friendly, proactive, responsible and healthy students. And also to assist the child in acquiring new knowledge and apply it in his life, to help him do the homework, to expand his horizons and to encourage him to make the efforts to study.
The "Socialization" The purpose of socialization in the framework of mentoring program is to help orphans and children deprived of parental care learn the social values, norms, behaviors, accepted in society and to build the personality with the purpose of further adaptation of the child in society. And also it is the process of acculturation, education and training, through which the child could participate in social life.
