Since mid January coordinators of One Hope Project have been working in a shelter for homeless children in Kyiv. Project coordinators met with children and staff to discuss their participation in the activities at the shelter. The coordinators began their work with the goal of establishing contact with children. Then they began training on "Life skills” for youth. Through interviews with the children it became clear that they were interested in developing relationships with our staff and they are also worried about many important issues. There are a lot of talented children at the shelter who need support and encouragement. Staff workers of the shelter are trying to provide children access to different educational programs as well as find the best approach to reach every child. It is clear that every child needs a significant person -a mentor in his/her life.
